1: Alienor de Florentia -New Name & New Device

Per pale Or and gules, a pomegranate slipped and leaved counterchanged.

Submitter desires a feminine name.
Meaning (Alienor from Florence) most important.

Alienor is a feminine given name dated to 1488 in Late Period French Feminine Names by Aryanhwy merch Catmael (http://www.ellipsis.cx/~liana/names/french/latefrench.html)

de Florentia is a byname dated to late 13th century in 13th C English names from the register of John Pecham by Aryanhwy merch Catmael (http://www.ellipsis.cx/~liana/names/english/pechamregister.html).

French and English names may be mixed per SENA Appendix C.

2: Aodh Ó Siadhail -New Household Name

OSCAR finds the name registered exactly as it appears in December of 2013, via Drachenwald.

House of Grene

No major changes.
Meaning (House of the color green) most important.

The submitter wants a household name with the word for the color green being the most important.

The House of Grene

Grene is an English byname dated 1247 in MED [online edition https://quod.lib.umich.edu/m/med/] s.v. grene (adj)

The pattern House of [surname] follows period patterns of houses named from the head of household e.g., House of York, House of Lancaster.

3: Aodh Ó Siadhail -New Device

OSCAR finds the name registered exactly as it appears in December of 2013, via Drachenwald.

Pily vert and ermine.

The submission was previously returned in kingdom (2013-09-01 https://oscar.sca.org/kingdom/kingsingleitem.php?kingdom=14&id=34889) due to an unrecognizable charge. This is a complete redesign.

4: Bernhart Gottfrid Bisterfeld -Resub Device

OSCAR finds the name on the Drachenwald LoI of April 30, 2017 as submitted.

Per fess gules and argent, an anvil argent and a bear statant sable atop a base vert.

The submission was previously returned in 07-2017 LoAR (http://heraldry.sca.org/loar/2017/07/17-07lar.html#181):

Bernhart Gottfrid Bisterfeld. Device. Per fess gules and argent, a double-horned anvil argent and a bear statant sable atop base vert.

This device must be returned for violating SENA A3D1, Clarity of Charge Groups. The division of the field is not of equal parts: the lower portion is half the height of the upper portion. The visual effect is difficult to distinguish from a charged fess: i.e., this might be a badly drawn rendition of Per fess gules and vert, on a fess argent a bear statant sable, in chief a double-horned anvil argent. The blurred distinction of charges is sufficient to warrant returning this for redesign

This is a redraw of the same design.

5: Dianora del Bianco -New Name & New Device

Per chevron gules and Or, three seeblätter inverted counterchanged.

Submitter desires a feminine name.
Language (15th century Italian) most important.
Culture (15th century Italian) most important.

Dianora is an Italian female name dated to 1427 in 'Names in 15th Century Florence and her Dominions: the Condado' by Juliana de Luna (https://www.s-gabriel.org/names/juliana/condado/womensalpha.html).

del Bianco is an Italian family name dated to 1427 in 'A Listing of Family names from the Condado Section of the Florence Catasto of 1427' by Juliana de Luna (https://www.s-gabriel.org/names/juliana/condado/familyalpha.html).

6: Dorotea Raimundez -New Name & New Device

Sable, a lymphad Or and a bordure Or semy of apples gules.

I would prefer Dorotea as an Iberian name, but at least it's found in Italy, dated to 1459, in 'Names from 15th and 16th Century Pisa' by Juliana de Luna (https://heraldry.sca.org/kwhss/2014/Juliana_de_Luna/Names_from_15th_and_16th_Century_Pisa.pdf)

Raimundez is a patronymic byname meaning "daughter of Raimundo". (http://www.panix.com/~gabriel/public-bin/showfinal.cgi/876.txt). Raimundo is a Spanish male given name dated to 1289-1300 in 'Medieval Spanish Names from the Monastery of Sahagun: The Names, Third Group' by Antonio Miguel Santos de Borja (https://www.s-gabriel.org/names/miguel/sahagun/sahagunNames3.html)

7: Ellisa von Styra -New Device

OSCAR finds the name on the Drachenwald LoI of December 31, 2017 as submitted.

Argent, in pale a vol and a tower sable between flaunches pean.

8: Gilbert Blakthorn -Resub Device

OSCAR finds the name on the Drachenwald LoI of August 31, 2017 as submitted.

Argent, a hawthorn branch bendwise sinister sable slipped gules and a tierce sinister raguly sable.

The submission was previously returned in 11-2017 LoAR (http://heraldry.sca.org/loar/2017/11/17-11lar.html#140) for conflicts:

Gilbert Blakthorn. Device. Argent, a hawthorn branch bendwise sinister sable slipped gules.

This device is returned for conflict with the device of Torunn Egilsdotter Ask, Bendy Or and vert, a sprig of ash bendwise sinister sable and the badge of the Barony of Lochmere, (Fieldless) An oak branch bendwise sinister sable. In each case, there is a single DC for changes to the field. The only difference between these registrations and the submitted primary charge are in artistic details, such as the addition of thorns and flowers, which do not count for difference when found on branches or trees.

This is a partial redesign.
