An Tir KLOI from Central/Summits dated 2018-08-01

Greetings unto the An Tir College of Heralds from Elizabeth Lions Blood!

The following items were returned by Laurel in May 2018:

Morikawa Kenji Katashige. Device. Sable, two chevronels braced between a roundel and a stream palewise couped embowed-counter-embowed argent.

This device is returned for redraw. While streams in base are seen in period armory, they are uniformly seen as having at least one end terminating at the edge of the shield, with the other end likewise issuant from the edge of the shield or else from a charge. Barring evidence of a stream like this one, this depiction of a stream cannot be registered.

The following items were returned by An Tir in July 2018:

Amicia of the Ruins. New Device. Per fess gules and sable, a bear statant argent.

This device is returned for conflict with a badge of the Barony of Septentria (July 1986, Middle): "Gules, a bear passant argent."

We also remind the submitter to please submit an uncolored line drawing for our records on her next attempt!

Mikael MacLeod. New Device. Argent, a wyvern displayed gules maintaining a sword fesswise and an escutcheon palewise sable between in bend two dragons passant gules.

This device is returned to have some changes made to style. At the moment, no difference is granted between a dragon and a wyvern, and so having both on the field together creates a "sword and dagger" problem per SENA A3.D.1. That rule is under consideration at Laurel right now and may or may not change soon. Meanwhile, the shield carried by the dragon bears a design which conflicts with other devices, such as the flag of Japan. With these issues addressed, we also encourage the submitter to draw the sword at either a definite horizontal or a 45-degree angle to increase his chances of success.

Wilhelm de Strivelyn. New Device. Per fess gules and sable, a wolf courant argent.

This device is returned for conflict with that of Isabel the Mad (February 1997, Meridies): "(Fieldless) A greyhound courant argent, collared vert."

The following items were pended by An Tir in July 2018:

Mir Netronin. New Device. Vert, a triangle argent and a base rayonny Or surmounted by a cauldron sable.

We are waiting for a reply from the submitter regarding a potential redraw.

The following items are presented for commentary in August 2018:
