"Conflict with William Rufus, otherwise known as William II, King of England after his father, William the Conquerer. At that time, William fitz William (or more likely Guillaume fiz Guillaume) would be an expected name for this historical sovereign.
His armory has been registered under the holding name William of Delftwood."
