Herkir is a scandinavian name, around 1300 found in [E.H. Lind].
Vargr temjandi is a constructed byname. In [Finnur Jónsson's "Tilnavne i den Islandske Oldlitteratur"] there is bynames meaning wolf, such as gylðir and varg.
While we don't have temjandi as a documented byname, we do have other occupational bynames, such as biørnakarl (bear hunter) and hestageldir (horse-gelder. Using the Linqua Societatis rule, this byname can be translated to the desired form Vargtämjare
