4: Middle, Kingdom of the - Resub Appeal of Laurel Return of Badge
OSCAR finds the name registered exactly as it appears in of at some point, .
Gules, a dragon reversed in annulo Or
This submission is to be associated with Midlands, Region of the
In 2014, the badge was returned for "presuming upon the important non-SCA badge of the Hungarian Order of the Dragon".
http://heraldry.sca.org/loar/2014/11/14-11lar.html
This submission requests that "(fieldless) a dragon contourney in annulo Or tail wrapped around its own neck" be unprotected for the Hungarian Order of the Dragon and that this badge be registered. In the LoAR for the original submission it says, "Although often depicted with a cross gules on the back,
that cross is not consistently used." This submission argues that there are two versions of the badge, and the only time the cross doesn't appear along the back of the dragon is when the dragon is conjoined to a cross. It also appears that physical representations of the badge were regarded as tinctureless, so the examples where the cross is the same color as the dragon should not be viewed as evidence the cross wasn't a significant part of the badge. Thus, (Fieldless) A dragon contourny in annulo Or tail wrapped around its own neck should not be protected.
Documentation prepared by Alzbeta Michalik, Dragon Herald Emeritus.
