The erasures at the necks of the wolf's heads do not meet our requirements as outlined in the November 2001 Cover Letter:

Therefore, for purposes of recreating period armorial style for erasing, the erasing should (1) have between three and eight jags; (2) have jags that are approximately one-sixth to one-third the total height of the charge being erased; and (3) have jags that are not straight but rather are wavy or curved. ~snip~ Submissions which contain couped or erased charges that diverge significantly from the guidelines above risk being returned for unidentifiability or non-period style unless they are accompanied by documentation.

Other armory has been registered since that skirt the limit of the 1/6 length requirement for jags. However, commenters were unanimous that these jags were too small for period erasures.

Upon resubmission, please depict the jags in keeping with our current guidelines.}

When a design has a peripheral ordinary, the field and any charges on it shift to give space to the ordinary. In this device, the presence of the chief shifts the rest of the charges down, and the bend sinister should issue from the corner of the field, or the sinister base corner of the chief. 29: Wulfila Raedwulfson -New Name

Submitter has no desire as to gender.
Sound ("ul-fi-la" "rayed wolf") most important.
Language most important.
Culture most important.

Wulfila - Priest who made the Gothic translation of the Bible. "The Old Germanic Principles of Name-Giving" by Henry Bosley Woolf p. 21

Raedwulf - name from "The Old Germanic Principles of Name-Giving" by Henry Bosley Woolf pp. 57, 61, 63 dated ca. 844

The naming conventions for this period of Germanic name did not use bynames/surnames. Relations were shown through variattions in the name with one name element remaining the same while the other element would be drastically changed. After 1100, patronymics began to be used (German Names in the Lowlands until 1100). However, to meet SCA naming regulations, we have attempted to make a patronymic of Raedwulf by adding "son". Any advice/help with the patronymic would be greatly appreciated.
