If "Corvus" is not acceptable then alternate spelling of Corvinus, i.e. Marcus Valerius Mesalla Corvinus (64 BC - 8 AD) is acceptable.

*****

Escutcheon was able to locate "Clarice" in the Academy of St. Gabriel article cited:

"Feminine Given Names in A Dictionary of English Surnames"

Index of Names Attested Between 1250 and 1450: C to E by Talan Gwynek (Brian Scott) at https://www.s-gabriel.org/names/talan/reaney/index_mid2.html. "Clarissa" is not among the options listed.

Submitter has included reference for the straight-sided point:

"The sides are properly drawn with concave sides, but there is one period example with flat sides - the canting arms (Portuguese canto, "corner") of Canto or Docanto, c.1540 [Nobreza xxxviiº] - so the concavity of the sides is left to the artist."

No major changes.

Original name submission was returned on the October 2011 LoAR (http://heraldry.sca.org/loar/2011/11/11-11lar.html):

Duncan Sinclair. Name.

This name presumes a relationship with the registered Phillip MacDuncan Sinclair; it can be seen as a claim to be his father. As such, this name may not be registered without a letter of permission to presume from Phillip. Alternately, he may add an element to distinguish himself from the Duncan Sinclair who was Phillip's father.

"Phillip MacDuncan Sinclair" was released in November 2015. In light of this and the changes in SENA which loosen the name conflict criteria, the submitter wishes to resubmit his original name request.

"Index of Scots names found in Dictionary of the Older Scottish Tongue" by Aryanhwy merch Catmael (http://www.ellipsis.cx/~liana/names/scots/dost/) has 14 citations of <Duncan> between 1379 and 1619, and 8 citations of <Sinclair> between 1502 and 1613.

Edward Archer of Kent. Device. Per bend vert and gules, a drawn bow with arrow nocked, an orle argent.

This device is returned administratively. There was no mention on the Letter of Intent that the device had been redrawn after kingdom commentary, nor whether the submitter had approved the redraw.

12: Elophina La Peyra -Resub Device

OSCAR is unable to find the name, either registered or submitted.

Azure, on a sun Or a dragon displayed sable, and a bordure compony sable and argent.

Originally submitted under the name "Nelophona Lapier," this device was returned for a redraw on the January 2018 LoAR (http://heraldry.sca.org/loar/2018/01/18-01lar.html#290):

Elofina La Peyra. Device. Azure, on a sun Or a dragon displayed sable, a bordure compony sable and argent.

This device must be returned for redraw. Depictions of winged quadrupeds where the forelimbs overlie the wings has been grounds for return due to lack of recognizability, most recently in the return of Umm Butrus A'isha al-Anida's device on the March 2017 LoAR.

This device is also returned for blurring the distinction between rampant and displayed postures. In the return of Irene MacKenny's device on the July 2017 LoAR, it was ruled that "Absent documentation, we will cease to register any depictions of animate charges displayed with the torso twisted to dexter or sinister as of the January 2018 decision meeting. Note that even an acceptably drawn dragon displayed remains a step from period practice." As this depiction of a dragon "displayed" has the torso turned to dexter, it is returned under this precedent.

There is a step from period practice for use of dragons displayed.

Original submission, Azure billetty an angel argent, and a fillet ermine, was returned at Kingdom in August 2014 for a redraw due to unidentifiability of the fillet. The fillet has been changed to a chief to correct this.
