Name Construction in Mediaeval Japan (Revised Edition) - Solveig Throndardottir

- Akizuki (previously registered and approved) - page 315

- Soujirou - page 372

- Kaoru - the feminine name "Kaorime" can be found on page 378. This is from an earlier time period. In my period (late period; the Japanese Momoyama period, which is 1568-1600) it was common for feminine names to drop the "-me" or "-ko" suffix. This leaves the name as the single-kanji "Kaori" which can also be read as the unisex "Kaoru". This is similar to the single-kanji name "Hikaru" (page 334) which can also be read as "Hikari". As a transgender individual, the unisex nature of the name Kaoru is very important and special to me.
