The household name is based on English inn sign names. "English Sign Names," Mari Elspeth nic Bryan ( http://www.s-gabriel.org/names/mari/inn/ ) does not show a <color> + <item> example (there are <color>+<animal> examples), but her article "English Sign Names From 17th Century Tradesman's Tokens"

( http://www.medievalscotland.org/kmo/Tokens/Patterns.shtml ), does, such as Golden Anchor, Gilt Frying Pan, and Golden Plow. The existence of a lily flower in merchant ship name inventories (See "lilly" under flora & fauna here http://www.ellipsis.cx/%7Eliana/names/other/ships.html) suggest that a lily would be a recognizable flower.

Karl - The name <Karl> is a fine choice. It became popular in the 11th and 12th century [2, 3] and remained in use throughout our period, at least in some parts of Germany. In Bavaria during your period, however, this name appears to have been quite rare. We found two examples of <Karl> in 1495, as well as one instance each of <Karel> and <Karle>. In 1497, we found one instance of <Karl> out of over 7,000 names [4, 5].

von Wold - von Wald appears in the report but no von Wold.

Emailed client and verified that it should be von Wald so corrected documentation to match the spelling of von Wald.

The report given for the surname supports "von Wald".

von Wald is the attested form, but it might reflect a place called Wald. With the benefit of 17 years of hindsight, that point should have been made more strongly. Possible von der Wald or von dem Wald, depending on how the locals viewed the status of their forest, for a name that actually referred to the forest.

Gunnovor Silfraharr did a redraw that the client liked and was much more what he was after so the comments are based on the original drawing that did have some issues. We corrected this at the Kingdom level.

The old drawings showed a salamander not enflamed but rather "on a bed of flames". Which makes this a metal salamander on a metal charge. Enflamed charges normally have tufts of individual flames. If the flames were correctly drawn, it would clear up this issue.

Also the color of the chief was omitted.

Reblazon: Vert, on a bed of flames Or, a salamander argent and on a chief Or, three Maltese crosses sable.

The crosses can be drawn larger.

No conflicts found, but there is an issue about the proportions here. Note that the old color version has lost the outline of the breathed flames. The PicDic says the default posture for a salamander is statant, so this one needs to be specified as respectant (or passant respectant). As others have pointed out, the salamander is metal on metal.

Client wants enflamed not on a bed of flames.

"(Fieldless) A salamander statant respectant argent enflamed Or." As with the device, the flames coming from the mouth are hard to see, but at least on this one, they have a visible outline. No conflicts found, but again we see metal on metal.
