Trimaris LoI dated 2017-03-31

Greetings and Salutations,

Here in Trimaris it's been an exceedingly slow time for new submissions as we've had a sizable gap between events. That said Gulf Wars just concluded and Spring Coronation is upon us. I expect many more new submissions to be sent up on the LoI for May.

Spring is a time for cleaning and I've been going back thru our physical and digital archives and there are an awful lot of submissions that got caught in limbo some during my time and some even dating back to as early as 2013 before the tenure of either myself or my predecessor. These submitters will be contacted over the course of the next month such that they can resubmit these items on the April ILoI to begin being reconsidered.

This process has been delayed in no small part due to the absence of a returns herald for some months now. I want to thank Milesenda de Bourges, Ciaran O Muireagain, and Gryfyn de Moyon for stepping up to fill this absence and make this unexpected transition to the soon-to-be-named Trireme as smooth as possible.

So, without further ado, I present you with the shortest letter I hope I ever have to submit, which may very well be followed by the largest letter I ever have to submit!

This item was on the 06-2017 LoAR

1: Dagmær Nilsdóttir - New Name & New Device

Per fess sable and azure, in chief a plate and a point pointed argent.

Submitter desires a feminine name.
Sound (Phonetically) most important.
Language (Old Icelandic) most important.
Culture (Norse) most important.
Meaning (Neal's daughter, in memory of her grandfather.) most important.

Dagmær: Female hero in the 14th century Icelandic Saga, "Hálfdanar saga Eysteinssonar," Attached forms from this catalog: attest usage in 1205 and 1212.

Nils: Attached forms from the same catalog: attest usage from 1379 to 1493

Alternatively Niils would be acceptable and is in the next column of the same catalog dated from 1448-1466

-dóttir: common suffix meaning daughter. Submitter is ok with any version of this suffix that would match the time period of the 13th-15th century.

2: Oddbiǫrn Mjǫksiglandi - New Device

OSCAR finds the name on the Trimaris LoI of September 30, 2016 as submitted.

Per pale sable and argent, two sets of eight swords conjoined in annulo at the quillons and a phoenix counterchanged.

Originally submitted with a name that did not pass internally so it never made it out of kingdom to be paired with a holding name. Since then the revised name of the submitter has passed, but the device slipped thru the cracks so we're resubmitting it now.

3: Solen Trianezov - New Device

OSCAR finds the name registered exactly as it appears in January of 2014, via Trimaris.

Gules, a trident head between three escallops within a Knight's chain in orle Or.

Yours in Service,

Lord Ephrem Orbeli

Lymphad Herald Trimaris

P.S. As always may the commentary be constructive and the discourse civil.

OSCAR counts 1 New Name and 3 New Devices. These 4 items are chargeable, Laurel should receive $16 for them. There are a total of 4 items submitted on this letter.
