Blazonature p 474 listed for de Parono, Line drawing indicated on p290 (h). "Grembiato di rosso, d'argento e d'azzuro. I color sono indicati dalle iniziali." Translates as "Gyronny of red, silver, and blue. The colors are indicated by the initials: B-azire, R-rules, x-argent".
This codex dates back to the early years of the condottiere Francesco Sforze as Duke of Milan (1450-66).

"Gyronny is sometimes composed of more than two tinctures, this a branch of the Milanese family of ORIGO bears: Gyronny, sable, argent, vert, sable, argent, vert, sable, argent, vert."

Commentary there discussed two other examples shields showing gyronny of more than three colors, The Magister Militum per Thracias, Constantini Dafnenses and the Magister Peditum, Tertia Herculea.

I'm not fully up on the IAP rules, but the citations as well as the LoAR precedent do seem to support the use of gyronny in more than two tinctures both in period and in SCA heraldry.
