We leave it to those who have a command of Gaelic to say if this is sufficient support. My paperback copy of Reaney has the reference for the surname on p.241. Purple Falcon found support for the given name spelling at IGI C03553-1. Stephan Strange was christened on 26 Dec 1539 in Houghton Regis, Bedford, England.
