"Stylite" found in/cited from Hendy, Michael F. (1985) Studies in the Byzantine Monetary Economy c300-1450 Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, ISBN 0-521-24715-2 (page 174). Meaning is important: Stylite meaning a pillar saint or pillar hermit, submitter being very tall and slim (6'7"), making the name a visual pun of a sort.
