Lowarch (13th century form of Llywarch) a Welsh masculine given name in Heather Rose Jones A Simple Guide to Constructing 13th Century Welsh Names https://oscar.sca.org/s.php?u=661 [ server.penheralds.net ] The submitter really wants Dragon's Wing in Welsh. The Modern Welsh is Adain y Ddraig. The client will accept "the dragon" in Welsh if "dragon's wing" cannot be created. The spelling of the given name used here is 13th century. Several Welsh leaders were called "the Dragon," including Llewylen ap Gruffyd Thomas Stephens The Literature of the Kymry 1849 p.381. The GPC (historical Welsh dictionary - https://welsh-dictionary.ac.uk/gpc/gpc.html) gives dreic and dreig as 14th and early 15th c. names. It gives one meaning of this term as "warrior, hero, war leader, chieftain, prince." We believe this is not presumptious given the variety of levels it can refer to. We can do Lowarch Dragon Winge or Lowarch Dragon Wynge using double English surnames. Dragon as an English surname is found as late as 1582 in the form of Padye alias Dragon in "Index of Names in the 1582 Subsidy Roll of London" by Aryanhwy merch Catmael (https://www.ellipsis.cx/~liana/names/english/engsurlondon1582n-z.html). The bonnacon is described by Pliny the Elder in his Naturalis Historia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonnacon) as a bull with turned back horns and with foul excrement shooting out from under the tail. Multiple medieval manuscripts have consistent depictions of this fantastic beast, thus meeting the criteria of A2B4a. The submitter is aware of the 1980 return of this beast for offensiveness, and would like this ruling reconsidered by the College and Wreath under more modern standards.
