Per chevron argent and sable, two wildcats salient respectant gules and a triquetra argent

Submitter desires a masculine name.

Æthelred: Peter Sawyer's online Anglo-Saxon Charters: an Annotated List and Bibliography, Charter 100 contains the masculine given name dated to 727 - 736, with the spelling Æthelred (

Charter 335 likewise contains the spelling Æthelred dated to 862. (

the Well-read: descriptive byname. Bosworth-Toller lists ge-lǽred, meaning learned, erudite. ( Well-read is a plausible Lingua Anglica form of this byname.
