These are the items which have passed kingdom scrutiny since Artemisia's latest LoI dated 2017-10-30. As always, those items upon which Golden Pillar consulted were decided upon by Golden Wing. Please enjoy.

1: Aedh mac Eoghain - Resub Device

OSCAR finds the name registered exactly as it appears in March of 2014, via Artemisia.

Argent, a chevron vert between three thistles sable within a bordure azure

The issue of chevron placement was raised shortly before the close of last months internal letter. The submitter was informed of his options; submit a redraw or risk a Laurel return. He elected to submit a redraw.

Correction to Device (2017-Nov-30 03:11:47): This is new, not a resub.

Conchobhair - genitive form of Early Modern Irish Gaelic (c1200-c1700) Conchobhar, in Mari Elspeth nic Bryan, "Index of Names in Irish Annals: Conchobar / Conchobhar", https://medievalscotland.org/kmo/AnnalsIndex/Masculine/Conchobar.shtml.

A commenter at kingdom suggested that this name be changed to Gillian inghean Chonchobhair to correct lenition. At the submitters request this change was not made by kingdom. The submitter leaves it to Pelican to make this change "if absolutely necessary."

The specific depiction of this cat is based on the registered arms of the submitters mother Catalina Giacomuzzi Argent, a winged cat sejant wings elevated and addorsed sable within a bordure rayonny purpure (image 1, registered October of 2000 via Artemisia). http://oanda.sca.org/oanda_name.cgi?p=Catalina%20Giacomuzzi

Attestation text:

The submitter is the daughter of Catalina Giacomuzzi, from whose arms the winged cat was taken directly. As Lady Catalina is deceased, and attestation of relationship, and his control of her registered material as her legal heir, is provided by Conchobhar Golden Wing in the documentation for the Sovereigns.

OSCAR thinks the name is registered as Sentinels' Keep, Barony of in March of 1993, via Atenveldt.

Fledged Crane, Order of the

Fieldless a Crane rousant to sinister argent

This submission is to be associated with The award is for young members of the Barony

Meaning (a young crane) most important.

Fledged is a term that first appeared in the 1570s to describe a bird that has matured and is able to fly.

This was originally blazoned as Fieldless, a shoe vert. That blazon was changed at kingdom based on the commentary of Adelaide de Beaumont who stated: "This isn't a default shoe. If they want the curly toe, they need to blazon it 'an Irish brogue' as per Guillim." Please see image 1.

"Commenters questioned whether this name is registerable because it does not use a pattern set out in Appendix A. However, Appendix A shows only the most common patterns, not all patterns that can or have been documented. In this case, precedent allows Russian names to use double Christian given names. [Janus Neon Bakinich, 11/2015 LoAR, A-Caid] Therefore, this name can be registered."

The original iteration of this device (image 1) was returned on Nov 27, 2017 due to Artemisia's policy of returning all physical submissions that contain any amount of wax. The color emblazon being sent up was drawn digitally by kingdom based on the outline scan of this submission. The submitter has approved these changes.
