Meridies ILoI from Meridies dated 2017-11-01

I, THL Ulrich Eisenhand for the Kingdom of Meridies, send greetings unto Maistreas Flannait inghean ui hEighnigh, Beacon Herald; Señor Carlos Blanco el Barbero, Pennon Herald; and the commenting heralds of the Meridies Internal Letter of Intent Commentary list.

It is the intent of the Meridian College of Heralds to submit the following names and armory as part of the next external Letter of Intent published by the Pennon Herald.

The pleasure of your response to Pennon is requested no later than November 21, 2017. A decision meeting is tentatively set for the following Tuesday after the 21st. Any changes will be announced through proper channels.

1: Aodh mac Ruaircc -New Name & New Device

Quarterly embattled gules and Or, in bend sinister three oak leaves one-and-two and a serpent nowed in a Cavendish knot contourny vert.

Submitter desires a masculine name.

Aodh - Masculine given name, found via "Index of Names in Irish Annals" by Mari Elspeth nic Bryan (Kathleen M. O'Brien), s.n. "Áed / Aodh". http://medievalscotland.org/kmo/AnnalsIndex/Masculine/Aed.shtml. This is the Early Modern Irish Gaelic nominative spelling of this name, dated between the 12th and 17th centuries.

mac Ruaircc - Patronymic byname, meaning "son of Ruairc". Found via "Index of Names in Irish Annals" by Mari Elspeth nic Bryan (Kathleen M. O'Brien), s.n. "hUa Ruaircc / Ua Ruairc, Ó Ruairc", https://medievalscotland.org/kmo/AnnalsIndex/FamilyNames/O_Ruairc.shtml. This is the Middle Irish Gaelic spelling of this name, dated between the 9th and 12th centuries.

OSCAR finds the name registered exactly as it appears in July of 2012, via Meridies.

4: Kikuchi Kazumitsu -Resub Device

OSCAR finds the name on the Meridies LoI of February 28, 2017 as submitted.

Argent, two feathers palewise within an annulet sable.

Previous submission, "Argent, a tomoe azure within and conjoined to four feathers gules", was returned by Kingdom in August 2017.

Must be returned for further work. The device contained two steps from period practice: 1)Tomoe in groups of three, and 2)Items in annulo base-to-tip. Only one step from period practice is allowed within any armory.
