An Tir KLOI from Central/Summits dated 2017-04-17

Greetings to the College of Heralds!

Here are our submissions for the Central and Summits regions of An Tir.

1: Ailionóra inghean Tighearnaigh -New Device Change

OSCAR finds the name registered exactly as it appears in June of 2003, via Caid.

Argent, a polypus per pale gules and sable within a bordure embattled counterchanged.

Old Item: Argent, on a bend engrailed azure between a brown horse rampant and a tree eradicated proper three gouttes argent., to be retained as a badge.

The submitter's branch is Wealdsmere.


2: Aldith Gyffin -New Badge

OSCAR finds the name registered exactly as it appears in March of 1992, via An Tir.

(Fieldless) A berry bramble blasted and eradicated purpure.

The submitter's branch is Herons Reach.

The form has a note indicating that this is meant to be a badge, but the submitter only had access to a device form at the time.

LB NOTES - obviously this will need to be redrawn on the correct form. We'd like commentary on the submission regardless so that we can address any and all issues in the redraw. TY!

Alrikr is a given name in Geirr Bassi, p. 342.

Ivarr is a given name in "Scandinavian Personal Names in Lincolnshire and Yorkshire," page 968, by Gillian Fellows-Jensen, Copenhagen, Akademisk Forlag, 1968. The patronymic byname is created by dropping -r and replacing it with -sson, per the instructions in GB.

4: Anna Gheleyns -Resub Device

OSCAR finds the name registered exactly as it appears in August of 2013, via Lochac.

Per chevron azure and or an apple gules and a bordure counterchanged.

The submitter's branch is Madrone.

A previous version of this device, "Per chevron azure and Or, in base an apple gules," was returned at the kingdom level in May 2016: "Unfortunately, this design conflicts with the badge of Da'ud ibn Auda, registered October 1995 via Ansteorra: (Fieldless) An apple gules slipped and leaved proper. There is a single DC for changes to the field."


5: Anna Gheleyns -Resub Badge

Or in an orle of icy vert a rabbit rampant sable.

A previous version of this badge, "Sable, on a pale argent a pea-vine vert," was returned at the kingdom level in May 2016: "Unfortunately, this design conflicts with the protected armory of Tycho Brahe: Sable, a pale argent. There is a single DC for the addition of the tertiary charge group. We believe that endorsing the pale or using a complex line would clear this conflict and should not create any new conflicts. If the submitter chooses to resubmit a similar design, she should use a Crayola or similar green marker, and not the dark evergreen used in this submission."

Argent, an oak tree eradicated vert and overall a cat passant regardant azure.

The submitter's branch is Dragon's Mist.

Previous submission returned on the Feb 2016 LoAR:

Sadb an Fheadha. Device. Bendy sinister argent and azure, on a bend azure an arrow between two cat's pawprints bendwise sinister argent.

Like the previous submission, this device is returned for having two tertiary groups on the same charge: the arrow and the pawprints. As depicted, the arrow still has significantly less visual weight than the pawprints which gives the appearance of it being a distinct tertiary group.

On resubmission, the submitter should be careful to avoid unity of orientation issues.
