documentation in packet

This was originally submitted as Arabella de Rehelh which does not match the documentaion. ffride, as noted below, caught this discrepancy. The submitter has confirmed that Rehelh was a typo and intends that the name be registered with a B.

2: Chagatai Burilgi - New Badge

OSCAR is unable to find the name, either registered or submitted.

Purpure, on a pale a bolddogge sejant afronty sable.

PtC with Catriona the Blind is as follows:

To Whom it may concern,

It's been brought to my attention that Lrd and his lady wish to have a badge (Purpure, on a pale argent a buldog sejant afronty sable) that might conflict with my Arms (Purpure, on a pale argent a talbot rampant sable maintaining a quill pen vert). I can see where these possibilities might lie. I believe due to living in different kingdoms and because theirs is a desired badge that there should be no issues in giving permission to conflict. Plus I see plenty of differences between ours that should nill the confusions. They have my full permission to conflict.

In Service,
Baroness Catriona the Blind
Iron Mountain, Meridies.

The OED documents the word bolddogge thusly: "?1518 Cocke Lorelles Bote sig. B.iv, Than came one wt two bolddogges at his tayle." To this commenter Michael Gerard Curtememoire adds "The '?' shouldn't worry us, since the book's publisher is Wynkyn de Worde, who's firmly late-period."

Comments were made in-kingdom that the bulldog breed has changed in shape between period and modern times. Pictures (both period and post-period) of dogs engaged in bull/bear-baiting were supplied to support this statement. Unfortunately Golden Pillar saw no period evidence connecting the pictured dogs to the word bolddogge (their activity was not enough since one of the dogs was clearly a terrier).

3: Tigernach Bard - Resub Name

Submitter desires a masculine name.
Sound most important.
Language most important.
Culture most important.

This name was previously submitted as Tiernbaird ap Gwalchmai on Artemisia ILoI dated 2016-07-28. It was returned by Golden Pillar because the name pattern (13th century English/16th century Welsh) and name elements (6th century Welsh) did not come from compatible time periods. In subsequent consultations Mari Aldyrne suggested a variant of the following documentation. Golden Pillar sends thanks to her, Tangwystyl, and Shauna for helping this name to be better documented.

Tigernach is documented in S-Gabriel website for 100 most popular men's names in early medieval Ireland:

Bard is the occupational name for a bard as in the family name Mac an Bhaird and following the occupational bynames as in the appendix or the above website:

The submitter would be willing to use the spelling Baird or Bhaird rather than Bard if it is felt that is more accurate.

Correction to Name (2016-Oct-28 23:10:58): This is a new name to Laurel.

<de Veniziana>

Our Italian Surnames by Joseph G. Fucilla, 1949. Pp. 106-107.

Additional docs provided by Maridonna:

Violetta is found 3 times, dated to 1526 to 1542 in "Names from 15th and 16th Century Pisa" By Juliana de Luna (Julia Smith)

De Felice's name locations are modern and refers to Violetta being found in Tuscany today. Pisa is in Tuscany.

What is her byname supposed to mean? "Of the Venetian woman?"

Fucilla, like Wikipedia, needs additional docs.

Angela Veneziana is found in "Names of Jews in Rome In the 1550's, Names of Christians" Compiled by Yehoshua ben Haim haYerushalmi (MKA Zachary Kessin)

The submitter says she would accept a change to Violetta Veneziana if necessary but prefers the submitted form.

Correction to Device (2016-Dec-11 23:12:55): The client has chosen to withdraw this item.
