Unto the Æthelmearc college of heralds, greeting!

These are the new submissions- as always, they're not perfect, and I as always ask for the help of the college in improving them before we send them to society level.

1: Alaric Acwulf -New Name Change (NP) & New Badge

OSCAR NOTE: filing name should not be registered for a primary name change. It was, in in October of 2016, via Æthelmearc.

Old Item: Alaric Elwin Acwulf of Wolverhampton, to be released.
Submitter desires a masculine name.

Alaric is the expected vernacular of Alaricus, found in Morlet I, s.n. Alaricus, dated a. 875-12th C.

I'm using Acwulf as an unmarked patronymic. Acwulf appears as a personal name in the Domesday book (Acwulf of Thelnetham), 1086


2: Alips Martel -New Name (NP)

Submitter desires a feminine name.
Spelling most important.

Alips is a feminine French name documented once in "French Names from Paris, 1421, 1423, & 1438" by Aryanhwy merch Catmael (Sara L. Uckelman, http://heraldry.sca.org/names/french/paris1423.html).

Martel is a French byname found in "Sixteenth Century Norman Names" by Cateline de la Mor (https://www.s-gabriel.org/names/cateline/norman16.html#...)

Per SENA Appendix A, <given> + <byname> is an acceptable name pattern in French.


3: Bertand Martel -New Name (NP)

Submitter desires a masculine name.

The client's desired given name, Bertand, does not appear in the source cited, "French Names from Paris, 1421, 1423, & 1438" by Aryanhwy merch Catmael (Sara L. Uckelman, http://heraldry.sca.org/names/french/paris1423.html). What does appear is Bertran.

Romey- as a given name appears in Family Search (B02371-7) from 1591 Württenberg Germany. Submitter wishes to find (if possible), citation without the "e"- "Romy" possibly a diminutive of Rosemary or Rosamund

Feurherdt- (Heath) appears in Bahlow's Dictionary of German Names. Variant of Feuer dating to 1350 Sonnenberg (exact date of variant unavailable)

The last name, Wang, can be found in the article "ACADEMY OF SAINT GABRIEL REPORT 2346" by Valerie Putman (under Wang2). s.n. Wang. It was one of the most popular last names at the end of the Yuan dynasty, which ended in 1368. It is still a widely used last name nowadays.
