1: Alienor Walcott -New Name

Submitter desires a feminine name.
Language (English) most important.
Culture (English 10th Century) most important.

2: Caterine le jeune -New Name & New Device

Azure, a chevron argent with 7 ermine spots between two mullets of four points and a parrowvolant bendwise to sinister Or.

Submitter desires a feminine name.
Spelling (the spelling of Caterine very important) most important.

Meaning (From the city of Baymouth in Germany) most important.

Charles - modern name allowance, driver's license viewed and attested by Dorcas Whitecap, Gold Falcon Emerita; Brian Robert MacDougall, Fountain Pursuivant, and Kagetora Hirakawa, herald at large.

von Bayrreuth - locative byname. Spelling documented in "Articuli Additionales Super-elisivi & Peremtoriales, Herren Burgermaister/Rath und Spitalpfleger zu N(je)rmberg/Contra Die Herrn Marggraven zu Brandenburg/ Inn sachen das

Lazareth und neu gebeu belangbend", published 1538.

page 6 "Item so hat Burggraf Friderich des Geschlechs von Zollern der erst Burggraf/Bayrreuth und anders mehrl mit Frauen Belisabethen/des Herzogen von Merons Tochter et beyrath." Bayrreuth is also listed in the margin.

Essentially this says that Friderich des Geshlechs von Zollen is the first Viscount of Bayyreuth, and names his wife and daughter as well. Printed scans attached.

Submitter desires a masculine name.

All of the name elements are documented from Geirr Bassi, "The Old Norse Name".

Ketill is found as a masculine given name on p. 12.

Karl appears as a masculine given name on p. 12. The patronymic is formed according to the rules on page 17.

meta pattern charge: follows the pattern of orders being named after heraldic charges listed in Medieval Secular Order Names by Juliana de Luna (Julia Smith) at http://heraldry.sca.org/names/order/new/

Bull's horn as charge: The pic dic s.v. horns, animal's says, "Bull's horns, or buffalo's horns, are found in German crests as early as the 14th Century [Gelre], and as charges in the arms of von Pfiltz, 1605 [Siebmacher 51]."

Bull: OED s.v. Bull (n, 1a) documents this name to ca 1200 and defines it as The male of any bovine animal; most commonly applied to the male of the domestic species ( Bos taurus); also of the buffalo, etc.

Horn: The OED s.v. horn (1.n) documents horn in this spelling to ca 1300.

possessive form of bull's body part: The OED s.v.bull (n, 1e) dates bullis head to 1565 and bull's head to 1802. Under same header (compounds, easiest found by clicking the link to the right of the entry) bulles pissell is dated to 1587.

We cannot date bull's body part to period and request help as the Barony prefers the possessive form with the "'s".
