Middle ILoI dated 2014-09-16

Greetings unto Edward Dragon, Konrad Rouge Scarpe, and the Middle Kingdom College of Heralds.

This letter contains the compiled submissions received in the month of August, 2014. Commentary will be due by October 16, 2014.

1: Aiden McManus -New Name & New Device

Per chevron argent and vert, two axes addorsed sable and a deer's head erased argent.

Aiden - The submitter notes that the spelling, <Aiden> has been passed once before:

Aiden Elfäedur, 1992 via the Middle.

The submitter also notes that <Aidan> is the name of three Irish Saints in period: St. Aidan, St. Aidan of Lindisfarne and St. Aiden of Ferns, all of whom lived in the 7th century.

2: Aislinn Celine de Richemont -Resub Device

OSCAR finds the name registered exactly as it appears in April of 1994, via the Middle

Argent, within a wreath of roses proper a domestic cat sejant sable gorged of a ducal coronet Or.

Previous submission, Argent semy of roses gules, a domestic cat sejant erect sable within an orle of ivy vert, was returned by Kingdom July 2014.

Correction to Device (2014-Sep-16 22:09:28): Previous submission was returned at Laurel level not Kingdom. 6/2014 LoAR

Aislinn Celine de Richemont. Device. Argent semy of roses gules, a domestic cat sejant sable within an orle of ivy vert.

This device is returned for redraw. The fact that both the cat and the orle of vine overlap the strewn roses renders the whole design unidentifiable. It is unclear whether the roses that are overlapped by the vine are part of a chaplet of roses or part of the semis. The roses that partly underly the cat also make the cat and its posture hard to identify.

Before that the original submission, Argent semy of roses gules, a cat sejant erect sable within an orle of ivy vert, returned in Kingdom June 2000 after having been pended for redrawing on the December 1999 ILoAR.

Correction to Device (2014-Sep-16 22:09:45): According to the Midrealm OP Aislinn became a Companion of the Order of the Rose 18 Apr, 1998 (A.S. 32) and a Duchess 19 Apr, 2008 (A.S. 42) allowing her the use of the wreath of roses and ducal coronet in her arms.

3: Alianor bat Asriel -Resub Device

OSCAR finds the name registered exactly as it appears in October of 2008, via the Middle

Purpure two camels in pale and on a bordure Or, an orle of roses purpure barbed vert and seeded Or.

Previous submission: Argent, three roses purpure barbed and seeded proper and a chief embattled purpure. Returned via Laurel November 2009 for conflict with the device of Thaddeus Maddox, Argent, three double roses and a chief embattled purpure. They were considered heraldically identical, since there is no difference for barbing and seeding. There is also no difference between a rose and a singly-tinctured double rose.
