OSCAR finds the name registered exactly as it appears in January of 2012, via the Middle

OSCAR finds the name registered exactly as it appears in August of 2005, via the Middle

Quarterly sable and argent two cross crosslets sable, and overall a cross counterchanged.

Submitter includes a computer printout indicating that she already has a device registered that would conflict, "Quarterly sable and argent, a cross counterchanged and in sinister chief a cross crosslet sable." Registered Aug 2008 via the Middle. She asks, "do I need to give permission to conflict with myself? :)"


3: Giric mac Ruadri -New Name

Submitter desires a masculine name.
No major changes.
Sound (submitter didn't specify) most important.

Client requests authenticity for French 13th C.

<Rivoire> - [Dauzat] variant listed under s.n. Rivier, Rivière, var. Rivierre (quelques Lavière, Delariverière, Dervière, Derivier).... Rivoire est la var. franco-provencale.


6: Tommaso Franceschi -Resub Device

OSCAR finds the name registered exactly as it appears in January of 2012, via the Middle

Azure a lama statant to sinister argent, on a base argent a hurt.

Name passed in January 2012 LOAR, but doesn't seem to show up in OSCAR (http://heraldry.sca.org/loar/2012/01/12-01lar.html)

Previously returned for conflict with Suleiman ibn al-Khattaru: (Fieldless) A camel statant to sinister argent.

Llamas were known to the Spanish since at least the 1500s. The OED has the following etymology (http://missives.antir.sca.org/pipermail/antir-heralds/2007-October/001733.html):

"Sp. /llama/, quoted as a Peruvian name of the animal in 1535 (Oviedo

/Hist. Peru/ ed. 1851 I. 418);"
