Overnight, OSCAR automatically ended the commentary period for the February meeting. Unfortunately, thanks to the new shorter commentary period, the system also closed comments on the March meeting. Commentary on all relevant letters has been re-enabled.

Submissions and principal heralds: please note that the tracking chart deadline for packets is incorrect as of the April meeting. December LoI packets are due by February 15. January LoI packets are due by February 28. The deadline in all meetings after April will be one month from the end of the month the LoI is issued in. For example: packets for March LoIs, which will be decided in June, are all due by April 30.

I seem to have been right on the mark with expecting issues with the new comment code. It's been fixed and the known problem adjusted. If you find any comments that seem to be out of place that were made in the last 48 hours, please report them?

And, of course, I seem to have screwed it up. Some comments don't appear where they're supposed to. I believe I have fixed the problem in the code, but I haven't gotten a chance to put the comments back in the right place.

I believe that I have found the issue with lost comments. It turns out to be the end-user being harder on the site than I anticipated. Sometimes, you may get a message that you've opened another editor window so your comment could not be submitted or edited, and you should be placed back in the editor. If you're sure that you didn't reload the submit page after successfully submitting it the first time, press the submit button again. This is OLD sections of the OSCAR code, I don't know what I may have unintentionally broken, so please report any issues you might have, however slight. Thanks to Juliana Siren and Magnus von Lübeck for their help in tracking this down.

WARNING: There have been reports of commentary going missing. I have verified that it is actually happening. Repeat: COMMENTS ARE BEING LOST. Thankfully, it should be nearly immediately apparent when this is happening. Please, when you comment, check to ensure that it actually did get posted while we track down this problem! Sorry about the mess.

We've fixed the issues where OSCAR could not find registrations when the name included accented/international characters.
